Napa Valley Film Festival

Two opportunities to join Chef Chiarello at the Napa Valley Film Festival.
Michael is excited that Mike Myers will attend the festival with Shep Gordon, the original mega talent manager and subject of Mike’s hilarious, touching and award-winning documentary Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. Fandango’s Chief Correspondent Dave Karger will moderate an on-stage conversation with Myers and Gordon will follow the screening. (November 13, 2:00 p.m., Uptown Theatre, Napa). Michael is an old friend of Shep’s, and will be on the Red Carpet with Shep and Mike prior to the screening at 2:00pm.

Michael on the Napa Valley Film Festival Traditional Home Culinary Stage on Saturday, November 15, 12:00 p.m. – 12:50pm, at 6525 Washington Street, at V Marketplace in Yountville! The Culinary Stage and NVFF Wine Pavilion is open from Thursday, November 13 through Sunday November 16. Michael will be demonstrating the perfect meal for enjoying dinner and a movie – Pizza (Fritta) Montanera Starita, of course! Made famous by Sophia Loren in L’Oro di Napoli, Chef Chiarello will show you how to create this unique olive oil fried pizza.

The 1980′s was a pivotal time for both cuisine and up and coming celebrity chefs. 1982 in particular brought forth two superstars straight out of the CIA: Michael Chiarello (CIA 1982) and Todd English (CIA 1982). These two former college roommates and culinary luminaries will reunite to share stories of their days at school, what it was like for them to forge careers as chefs and restaurateurs during this time, and how the job of chef has changed since their graduation, all while each prepares the dish that they say launched their careers.
